I have also run into a few other issues since I posted this. In particular there are some issues with scripts that rely upon environment variables being passed through to scripts, and I’ve seen some issues with scripts that work with “the clipboard” from AppleScript. I’m looking into fixes for both of these issues in the next update to FastScripts.

Glad the new support is useful on the whole to you!

The only problem is those error notifications. If I put in a try/on error handler to post an alert, it works all right, but otherwise there’s no feedback when something fails. This has already bitten me a couple of times.

1. I am typically running uncompiled scripts, so if anything would take a performance hit, I’d think that’d be it. These scripts are running without any noticeable delay.

2. It’s very nice to have my longer scripts “get out of the way” for other scripts to run. It ensures that my quick and frequently used keyboard shortcuts are always available.

3. I am not receiving any notifications when script processes have errors. Usually I get an error dialog of some sort. It would be nice to push these errors to Growl or Notification Center. (Preferably Growl — I’m still running Snow Leopard on one of my Macs.)

I have a commonly used script that takes a web page and sends it via email. The significant thing is adding a word count to the subject line. Anyway, I enabled the separate process and my email message pops up, ready to send seemingly much faster than before. No issues with any of my scripts. Will watch behavior for oddness.
