Welcome!

June 24th, 2005

I’ve recently finished reading The Pragmatic Programmer, and I was impressed most of all by the advice/reminder to we should always automate or streamline any activity we repeat frequently.

This, combined with a recent posting on Ridiculous Fish, has inspired me to revamp and update my GDB macros that facilitate easier navigation of PowerPC assembly code. Instead of posting these results to a mailing list or two where they’d be lost in the archive, I thought it would be a good opportunity to start a technical blog: something I’ve been meaning to do for a while.

So here we have the first post of my new blog. For posterity only, because chances are nobody will see this post until they’ve seen some future riveting post and decided to venture backwards in time for more nuggets of wisdom … who am I kidding? :)

Thanks for reading, and please continue on to the first real posting: Nerd Out with GDB.

I can scratch one more project off my growing list of personally needed but untackled tools. Other hex editors exist, but the speed and ease of this one prove its value within 30 seconds. It’s the iPod of hex editors. Link. [...]
