		<description>I believe Geoff&#039;s app uses signals to completely stop and resume the other applications. This does sound a little draconian but I imagine if you&#039;re really trying to squeeze out the most performance possible for an app, this is an acceptable measure.

To be honest I&#039;m not sure if you can achieve the same performance gain with &quot;nice&quot; - perhaps you can. But in any case I think there&#039;s an argument to be made for having a nice UI over anything that might be achievable via the command line.</description>
