Hi Chris – some of your contributors have been hanging out in the (very tiny) ##marsedit IRC channel on irc.freenode.net. They hit me up from time to time with questions, and as far as I know they have MarsEdit basically working with Habari.

Chyrp currently supports the standard XML-RPC formats, such as metaWeblog, MovableType, and the Blogger protocols. They only work with the Text feather however; a specialized protocol for Chyrp would need to be developed for *full* support, and it wouldn’t be compatible with any of the current XML-RPC clients. This is on the roadmap.

Daniel: If you’re interested in full Chyrp support at all down the line, I’d be happy to help out when the time comes.

Hi Markus – the last I investigated Chyrp, they hadn’t established an API for remote editors like MarsEdit to take advantage of. It’s definitely something I’d investigate if they supported an API. Ideally they would adopt a standardized API based on MetaWeblog or AtomPub. The more customized the APIs, the larger a following the system needs to make it worth my effort to support it.
