At least, that's how it previewed.

When actually posted to my blog, the third line of text ends up (several lines) below the image, aligned against the column left margin - not at all what I wanted or expected.

I assume the problem is a mismatch of column width and fonts between the Preview windows in MarsEdit, and the Thesis blog (default settings, for now).

How can I fix this to Preview what my blog post will actually look like - from within MarsEdit?
I started to use Markdown to format my blog posts. On Wordpress I use Markdown on Save Improved which works nicely for text and links.

There is a little bit overhead when it comes to dealing with Images. Right now these are the steps I have to take:

1) Open Media Manager

2) Open Upload Utility

3) Drag an Image from the Media Manager onto the Upload Utility

4) Adjust the properties and upload the file

5) Go to Wordpress, Media Library and obtain the URL to the image

6) Add it the post

Wouldn't it be possible to provide a way to upload the image right out of the Media Manager (below the Image Properties) and then view the URL of that image from the Published image tab through a right click which past the URL onto the clipboard. This would make it three steps without having to deal with Wordpress.

Cheers - Andy

Hi Daniel & Forum,

I have a wordpress blog and have started using Marsedit to draft my posts locally before publishing. I have MarsEdit installed on 3 different machines (my macmini at home, my iMac at work, and on my macbook air). Anyway, I did a site audit the other week with some tools from Raven which identified some broken links on my site. I went and updated all the broken links on my pages (through wordpress rather than Marsedit) and did another audit and everything came out ok (i.e. I had no broken links).

Today I was using MarsEdit to update one of my posts and when I published it and checked online all was good. However, I then noticed all the posts that I had fixed last week had reverted back to an older version and contained the same broken links that I know were fixed. Is it possible that MarsEdit pushed back the older version of the posts to the server?

Im just wondering because Im a newbie to blogging and dont really have an understanding of how the syncing works. I was guessing that when you hit refresh on Marsedit it would automatically know not to update a post on the server if the changes made through the online wordpress backend where more 'current' than the local version of the post/page stored locally on MarsEdit? In other words, MarsEdit would 'pull' from the server if the server version was more current or it would 'push' to the server if the local MarsEdit version was more current.

Anyway, just curious because although it didnt take long to re-update the links Im scared of experiencing much more serious version control issues in the future.

Thanks Daniel. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated and once again apologies if this sounds like nonsense because as I said I am a genuine newbie to blogging.

Cheers.

How do I configure MarsEdit so that I can add tags to a Drupal post?

Using the System API 'Moveable Type API', Drupal's vocabulary terms show up in the categories column of the main window. However, in the single post view I can't add new terms and selecting existing terms from the list doesn't add them to a new post. Also: I can't edit the post link.

If I change the System API to 'MetaWeblog API', the vocabulary terms no longer show up in the categories column of the main window; they do still show up as categories in single post view. Using the MetaWeblog System API I am able to edit the post link.

All I want to do is add tags to new Drupal posts. Can anyone suggest anything?
