I really like this being more prominent. It encourages me to give an expanded description of an image, which is of use to people not viewing images (such as the disabled or people with very slow connexions---which includes some of my rural Oregonian neighbors, not every part of the country has cable options). Nobody talks about web accessibility much any more but it's important to a lot of people.

It may also tell search engines more about the page.
