WordPress-Option "attachment-thumbnail wp-post-image"
  • In one of my WordPress-Blogs, I use the option of adding a picture to a single post as thumbnailed "post-pic"; it appears in a kind of list view of all the latest the posts and is sized 100x100px.
Is there a way in MarsEdit to place a post-pic as "attachment-thumbnail wp-post-image"?
Thanx for an answer, Henry, Berlin, Germany
(returning customer, just brought MarsEdit3 as Update from MarsEdit 1; and it works great, congratulations!)
  • Hi hest - I am afraid I'm not too familiar with these features of WordPress. It's something I need to look into further at some point. Is the question whether you can just get these attributes "attachment-thumbnail wp-post-image" added to the IMG HTML content somehow? If it's a matter of customizing the IMG markup, this is definitely something that can be set up in MarsEdit. But let me know if I'm on the right track or not.
  • Please have a look at http://www.steinhau.com/pop-symbole/wordpress/?page_id=41
As you can see, there is a 100x100px-Picture beside every Blog-Post. This is what the „post-pic“ means. Maybe it's not a WordPress-origin-Feature but a Feature of the Frameset „Platform Pro“, which I use. I don't know.
But if not, it would be nice to have in MarsEdit an option to place this „post-pic“.
    Thanx, Henry
  • Thank you, I did some research and discovered this based on standard WordPress feature for "post images":

I'm not sure how this relates to "featured images" … may be all part of the same feature in WordPress. In any case I can at least confirm that unfortunately I don't think it's possible to use MarsEdit to configure the post image for a post. I'm not sure yet if the API provides the functionality I need, or not. I'm going to have to look deeper into this when I get a chance.
