When I try typing in -OR- attempting to auto-detect, get this message: "Auto-detect Settings Failed: Could not determine blog configuration from web page content." http://postimage.org/image/5it149fo/
SO WHATS A BLOKE TO DO? I'm going koo-koo, but not for CocoaPuffs, that's for sure.
I've looked the xlmrpc file, and its set up, WRITING on WP has been turned on, etc–the whole 9 yards, as directed. Am I overlooking something?
I've exhausted my knowledge of WP and MarsEdit, and especially my patience.
Hi staeven, the second blog you linked to, http://www.quantum-cmg.com/, doesn't have the required "RSD" information in the home page, that MarsEdit and other clients use to auto-configure a blog's settings. It's likely that the theme you are using for the blog, or perhaps a plugin, is causing the RSD information to be omitted.
You can probably configure it manually, using your successful configuration as a template for what the settings should look like. I was able to guess that the "API Endpoint URL" for your second blog should be:
You would then just need to set the System type to WordPress and the API to WordPress. The blogID should probably just be "1".
However, I noticed in loading that API Endpoint URL in a browser there is something else lurking to go wrong. It looks like one of your plugins … something called "magic member"? has a bug that is screwing up the API and will mostly likely prevent MarsEdit from communicating with your blog. You might try disabling magic member if that's a viable option.
Hi reubenirving - I just tried and http://www.capturewhispers.com/ seems to autodetect fine for me. Can you try again? I noticed the page was a little slow to load, maybe it timed out when you tried before?
