Focus bug in Tag field

    If I am editing in the post field of a window and then drag a tag from the Tag field to the edit field the focus snaps to the Tag field instead of going to the edit field. So any characters I type get added to the Tag field.

    Not a serious bug but its a touch annoying when I forget about it :-)

    Interesting. I can see an argument for switching focus when dragging from one field to another, but I can't find any precedence for this behavior in other apps. Can you think of an example where it behaves similarly to how you're describing? For example, in Mail if you drag from the address "To" field to a "Cc" field, focus remains on the To field.

    I think it would be best for MarsEdit to exhibit "standard" behavior in general, so that users are not surprised by the fact that it behaves differently from other apps on the system.

    I'm not suggesting a change in focus. I don't think I made myself as clear as I thought I did :-)

    If I am editing, and the edit text field has focus, currently it will lose focus if I drag a tag from the Tag field to the edit field.

    Aha! Gotcha. Yeah, it looks like the tags field is aggressively assuming focus when you click to drag the tag. Thanks, filing a bug.

    Actually, I am afraid this might fall back to "standard behavior" as well, as I notice that clicking to drag contents from any field seems to do this. I do agree it would make sense that tags should be draggable without activating, so maybe I'll see if I can find a way to work around it for the tags field.
