Thanks for continuing to improve MarsEdit, Daniel.
I just downloaded and tried 3.3. I was really excited about full-screen mode. It's an improvement, to be sure, but I would like to suggest something else that I think would be more helpful to me as a writer.
When the post editor goes full-screen, it becomes too wide. I really don't want the window to change sizes and hide the menu bar, so much as I want to toggle off everything that appears above the post text area. This would mean that the blog drop-down would disappear, along with the Title, Slug, Tags, and Custom fields. THAT would be super-helpful.
Please understand that this is coming from someone who uses MarsEdit daily to maintain a commercial blog.
Dammit, something beat me to it ;) I really like the idea of a fullscreen-mode, too. But I think also the text-area gets too wide. Even von my MacBook Air with a resolution 1280x800 - don't wanna think about the new iMacs. There should be some (configurable) soft-wrap of the text and maybe even centering of the text, like in those "distraction-free text-editors". In the state right now it's imho a beginning but unfortunately unusable because a line is far too wide. The window just should not only be maximized but some layout-changes would be necessary as well to make it work (like Pages does it for example).
I’m doing my basic writing in a program called ByWord for this exact same reason. OmmWriter is similar. Both are excellent programs. However, I would prefer to do this in MarsEdit.
Thanks guys, I consider this a "first step" towards more sophisticated full-screen behavior. I decided to put this in to get the ball rolling. Your suggestions make a lot of sense and I'm noting them for consideration in future updates.
