I created a link for a word that saved to WordPress. I later decided I wanted that word to be plain text and no longer linked. I cleared the link which appeared plain text in MarsEdit, but after saving the post, the blog on wordpress.org kept the link, even after I cleared my cache. Did I do something wrong? Only way I could see to clear the link was to highlight the word, go to Format -> Link, and clear the text.
Seems like this must have something to do with the hosting specifics of your blog. Perhaps your hosting company is doing some extra caching at a level beyond the scope of your WordPress installation?
Sorry, I assumed you meant by wordpress.org that it was a self-hosted (i.e. not WordPress.com) blog. Does WordPress.org have its own hosting service, too?
Aha! I am pretty sure they probably are using some high-level cache that just needed to be updated. Annoying that it wasn't instantaneous but that probably explains it.
