Joomla 1.5 Installation w. Mars Edit

Hi there!
I'm looking for a simple desktop solution to feed one of my Joomla websites with text on a daily basis for a blog. It seems like MarsEdit is the only possible solution on a Mac running Lion. But: Joomla isn't supported out-of-the-box.
I did find a few discussion concering how to make MarsEdit run with Joomla, but most threads were rather old. So, here's my question: Can anyone give me any helpful pointers on how to make this combination work?
