Why can’t I upload images to my blog?
How do I choose default settings for allowing comments, text filters, etc.?
How do I edit the published date and time of a post?
Can I use MarsEdit to publish a blog on my general-purpose site?
Not all blog systems support image uploading. If yours doesn’t, you might consider establishing a free blog at a site like Blogger or Wordpress, where image uploads are well-supported.
Note for Blogger users: MarsEdit will upload images directly to your Picasa Web Albums account, but you must sign up for Picasa before this feature will work. Once you’ve signed up with Picasa using the same gmail.com account as you used for your Blogger blog, you’ll be able to upload directly to Picasa by selecting your Blogger blog in the Images & Files dialog.
Note for MetaWeblog-compatible blogs: to support image uploading, your blog’s API must support the metaWeblog.newMediaObject method. Most blogs implement this method correctly, but a few do not.
MarsEdit supports default settings for many options, so you don’t have to set them every time you create a new post. See Setting Default Options For New Posts.

MarsEdit relies on other software (such as Blogger, WordPress, Movable Type, etc.) to create your blog. It does not generate or organize the HTML required for a blog, so it can’t be used to easily edit blogs directly on a site without blog-hosting software installed.
