Abort a running script?

edited August 2011 in FastScripts
How can I abort a running script?

While a script is running, the FastScripts menu displays as its sole menu item "Abort running script", but the menu item is grayed out so that I cannot select it.

Is there a keyboard shortcut to abort any currently running script?

  • Hi - sorry about this. The abort running script is enabled only when the script is "giving time" back to the app to be able to process user feedback. I have to admit I don't completely understand this, but for example some scripts that are locked in a tight loop will not even be yielding enough control to allow aborting them.

In the future I'm going to look into whether I can run the scripts on separate threads in FastScripts, or as separate processes, to make it easier to control/terminate them as needed.
